In trying to backlog some of my beans, I would like to add beans I've previously used and have a rating for, but it's a little annoying to have to submit the bean, and then open the modal, only to click the checkbox.
When adding a new bean, the "closed bag" checkbox is only available after creation #3
I'd be down with that. That's exactly my use case, the onboarding. I've been a subscriber to Trade for a while, so I've got a whole list of beans (and roasters) to load in. I also wouldn't mind a nice bulk onboard. It's just tough when for the last year or two I've been buying a different bag of beans except for one or two.
I haven't even gotten started on any brews, I want to get a full backlog of beans/roasters/equipment etc all filled out.
I don鈥檛 think I鈥檓 likely to add a bulk onboarding system anytime soon, since I鈥檓 not even sure how I鈥檇 design it from a UI perspective.
Depending on how big your backlog is it might honestly be quicker to just make a bunch of JSON records and insert straight to your PDS.
Should be addressed now, I added an "extra details" toggleable section at the bottom of the bean creation modal. I also added a new page that allows for bulk creation of records that is accessible from the "my coffee" page (I'll find a better place to but it later, but wanted to get it out there). https://alpha.arabica.social/add
amazing, i'll keep going!
i got distracted playing with the goat cli and forgot to add my backlog
This is intentional, generally the idea is that adding a new bean would be a "new" one rather than historical, and I've heard a fair amount of feedback in the past that onboarding to arabica can be daunting due to the volume of fields that can be filled out (with bean creation being one of the things called out).
That being said, I'm toying with the idea of adding an "additional details" section to the bean creation modal that would contain a bit more "advanced" information, and I wouldn't be against putting the close bag toggle under that menu. Of course another way of handling this that I'd like to explore in the future would be a (guided) onboarding flow of some kind, that could maybe show that button.
