While some keywords are already bolded - I wouldn't call it proper syntax highlighting. I used tangled to share some quick reproducable code example for a bug, and at that I noticed how painful it actually is to read code.

No worries - I assume that the current 'opinionated' “syntax highlighting” was chosen because it matches with the sites style/aesthetic - which I get - it just isn't very usable/practical when actually wanting to use the site to share and review code. I personally would go with how GitHub renders code
