Reading https://anil.recoil.org/notes/disentangling-git-with-bluesky I realised that 'handle' on the login page probably refers to a Bluesky handle (and indeed it does). Would be nice if there was a tooltip or some other hint on what kind of handles are accepted. E.g. trying to use a Mastodon handle results in an 'invalid handle' error.
Linking to some documentation on how to get the app password (or creating and generating one automatically on behalf of the user) would be useful though. E.g. a web search results in https://blueskyfeeds.com/en/faq-app-password, which is outdated, because app passwords are now at 'Settings -> Privacy and Security -> App passwords' (not where that page says). https://bsky.app/settings/app-passwords seems to take you to the right place (though I'm not sure how future-proof this URL would be). Perhaps 'app password' could be made a hyperlink to this page?
Also I wasn't sure whether my handle would need to be manually approved first or not, but as you can see I was able to figure out how to login and create an issue here.
